LONDON - The International Platform for Palestinian Civil Society Organizations said that the US President Donald Trump's Plan announcement for the Palestinian territories, which has come to be known as the “Deal of the Century”, is equivalent to violating all the recognized red lines that were based on international resolutions that guaranteed many of the fundamental rights of the Palestinian people.

the international platform affirmed that international human rights institutions operating in the Palestinian territories must start immediate action and through several different steps in order to exert sufficient pressure on the international community; to reject such decision

The platform emphasized in its statement that the announcement of the American administration to extend the control of the Israeli authorities to the Jordan Valley and part of the West Bank, and to consider Jerusalem as the capital of "Israel" is a dangerous matter and cannot be tolerated by the international community, especially since this declaration is inconsistent with the texts of international agreements and decisions, including the right to self-determination for the Palestinian people, and considering the city of Jerusalem an international cultural landmark that must be protected and rejects all Israeli interventions to change that landmark, in addition to the United Nations General Assembly resolution 194 , which stipulates that refugees should be allowed to return to their lands and protect the holy places like the city of Jerusalem.

Moreover, the platform indicated that the recent announcement that was made by the US President during his conference yesterday, is understood from it that the US administration is intent to violate the international law governing the rights of the Palestinian people without any regard for the international consensus on these decisions, while stressing that the international community and before it the General Assembly of the United Nations, and the Security Council face a real scrutiny to protect the contexts of these agreements from violations.

On the other hand, the international platform affirmed that international human rights institutions operating in the Palestinian territories must start immediate action and through several different steps in order to exert sufficient pressure on the international community; to reject such decision, and work to find a real formula in which the Palestinian people can achieve their guaranteed rights according to international charter decisions. Through holding an urgent meeting that includes effective representatives of civil society institutions, unions, and associations with all active Palestinian forces, and the Palestinian Authority to study the US decision issued yesterday and come up with a unified national position discussing the next steps in enhancing the Palestinian people's access to their rights in accordance with various international decisions through a plan that is agreed upon it between all the official and legal Palestinian parties and civil society organizations.

The platform appealed to civil society's representatives and institutions at the international level in general, and in particular the Arab countries to announce their rejecting stance for the " Deal of the Century " and discuss ways to support the Palestinian people from achieving their rights through coordination between those institutions and institutions of Palestinian civil society, noting the attitude of civil society organizations in Kuwait, which issued a statement expressing the rejection of these institutions to the US authorities' declaration of the " Deal of the Century " and affirming their support for the Palestinian people until they obtain their freedom and rights.

In conclusion, the international platform called on the United Nations, and the Security Council and the international community to take immediate action in order to put pressure on the US administration to stop the implementation of this declaration, in addition, to setting specific and practical mechanisms that would enable the Palestinian people to obtain their rights based on international resolutions stated throughout the previous years.
